What does Hull Training mean by excellence and how will we know when we’ve achieved it?
This new vision statement describes what excellence is for Hull Training. We identify excellence from the perspective of our learners, our staff, the region’s employers, and the region’s workforce and of Hull Training itself.

Success for learners
There will be opportunity for everybody to participate in learning opportunities. Learners will choose to come to Hull Training to gain the knowledge, skills and experience they require to be successful in their working lives and to make a positive contribution to their community. Learning will continue to be personalised to recognise each individual’s needs and ambitions. The learning experience will be inspirational and enjoyable, with work experience provided for all full-time learners where it is appropriate.
Success rates on our apprenticeship programmes will be at least 80% and on our learner responsive programmes will be at least 95%. Learner satisfaction will exceed 90%. Increasing numbers of learners will leave Hull Training enthused and equipped to go further in their chosen vocation.
Success for the region
Hull Training will contribute to the economic development of Hull and East Riding, with economic recovery supported by a highly skilled, motivated and qualified workforce.
Success for employers
Access to a qualified and skilled workforce will help employers in the region run and develop their businesses. Hull Training will be the provider of choice for an increasing number of employers to meet the development needs of their workforce. Hull Training and employers will work in partnership to achieve this and will be supported by a responsive, relevant and innovative curriculum. The value of education and training as a means of improving profitability will be recognised by employers. Employers reporting that working with Hull Training has had a positive impact on their business will be at 95%, and the number of employers that Hull Training delivers education and training to in the region will increase from 645 to 1,200.
Success for staff
By working and achieving together our qualified, experienced and motivated workforce will be the driving force behind a culture of continuous improvement and progress towards excellence. Talented people will work at Hull Training and will want to contribute to its achievements. Investment in continuing professional development (CPD) will enable staff to develop themselves occupational knowledge. Hull Training’s workforce will be professional, dedicated and well rewarded. Staff satisfaction measures will improve year-on-year and all staff will be appropriately qualified or working towards an appropriate qualification.
Success for Hull Training
Hull Training will be seen as the benchmark by which all other training providers are judged and nationally recognised for its achievements in vocational education and for its positive impact on industry and commerce.
More learners will come to Hull Training for their education and training and the financial position will be strong, with operating surpluses generating funds for future investment. There will be a much increased awareness throughout the local community of Hull Training and what we offer. The development of new areas will be completed, providing the opportunity for Hull Training to further strengthen and develop over the life of the next strategic plan.
Our Values
Our values are the overarching principles that direct our approach to the development of Hull Training and our behaviour when conducting our work. Everything we do should be consistent with these values and everyone who works at Hull Training should be comfortable with them. We promote these values to our learners and we expect these values to be upheld by them while they are learning with us and hopefully long after they have left Hull Training.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide quality training linked to the needs of the community. Through our centres we welcome everyone into a friendly atmosphere where friends are made, learning is enjoyed and high standards are maintained. We continue to extend our links with industry, commerce and education sectors, while responding to the needs of a changing community.
