Learning Support
One of the many advantages of studying with us is that we pride ourselves on getting to know our learners on an individual basis. Our tutor-student ratios are good, and groups are small enough for us to give you lots of attention and support. We want to make sure that you make the most of your time with us. That’s why we have a network of support and all the facilities you need to achieve everything you possibly can.
Individual Tutorial Support
Every learner on a major course has his or her own personal tutor. Your tutor organises individual review sessions to make sure you’ve got all the support you need, and that you’re getting the very best from us in results and experience. As well as this, there are regular meetings with your whole tutor group so you can support each other.
Course Information, Advice and Guidance
We know that deciding which course is best for you is one of the most important decisions that you will ever have to make. You will find detailed information about each of the courses that are available to you on this web site.
In addition, expert information, advice and guidance is available to help you choose the right course, whether you are considering coming to Hull Training for the first time or progressing from another course we can help. We can provide you with information and advice on further education, higher education and work based training opportunities. Hull Training is accredited with the Matrix Standard for the provision of Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG).
Pastoral Care
You can always have a chat with your personal tutor, and we also have a counsellor who offers confidential personal counselling to help and advise you, whatever the problem.
Learning Mentors
You can have a learning mentor, who will be allocated to you and will provide any further help and support to ensure you achieve your identified goals.
Learning Support
If you’re returning after a break from learning, you could choose to be one of the many learners who take advantage of the extra help we offer with maths and English. This is available either within the classroom, or in small or individual group sessions outside of class time. Arrangements are made individually to ensure you get the help and support you really need.
Equal Opportunities for All
We’re committed to ensuring that every member of our community is treated equally and fairly. Hull Trainings policy is to combat any form of discrimination or prejudice. All staff and learners are required to support and promote equal opportunities with regard to race, gender, ethnicity, sexuality and disability.
We wish to ensure our compliance with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (as amended by the Special Education Needs and Disability Act 2001). If you have a disability, please make sure we know what support you need, so that we can make all reasonable adjustments to help you succeed. Just contact us to discuss any concerns or queries you have and we’ll do the rest.
