This course is aimed at school leavers aged 16-18 years, who wish to work in the Food and Beverage industry. The aim of the NVQ is to recognise the skills and competences of candidates in the workplace. These qualifications provide individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in Catering and Hospitality.What will I learn?
Throughout your training programme you will carry out practical exercises to show that you can meet the requirements of national standards. Training is truly based in a working environment, and is tailored to the specific needs of the job role.You will learn:
- Theoretical and practical front of house skills
- Health, Safety and Hygiene - Ensuring a clean and safe environment
- Maintaing Food Safety when storing, preparing and cooking of food
- Communication skills
- Stock control
What qualifications will I achieve?
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Food and Beverage Service
- Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles
- Key Skills Level 1 in Numeracy
- Key Skills Level 1 in Literacy
How will I be assessed?
You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This involves collecting details of work performed whilst in your workplace.
