This course is aimed at school leavers aged 16-18 years, who are interested in developing their skills and knowledge within the Catering and Hospitality Industry. The aim of the NVQ is to recognise the skills and competences of candidates in the workplace. These qualifications provide individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in Catering and Hospitality.What will I learn?
This course would suit anyone wishing to work in kitchens and food processing areas.You will learn:
- Health, Safety & Hygiene - Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment
- Cooking and Preparing various foods - Theory and Practical
- Maintaining Food Safetywhilst storing, preparing and cooking
- Chilling and Freezing
- Ordering stock
- Good Communication and team working skills
What qualifications will I achieve?
Certificates in the following:- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Food Production and Cooking
- Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles
- Key Skills Level 1 in Numeracy
- Key Skills Level 1 in Literacy
How will I be assessed?
You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This involves collecting details of work performed whilst in the workplace.
