Painting & Decorating (Level 2 Apprenticeship)Who is this course for?
This course is aimed towards school leavers who are interested in a future career in Painting & Decorating. You should have a keen interest in this subject area and have a desire to develop practical hand skills in a demanding environment.What will I learn?
You will learn how to perform a variety of Painting & Decorating skills.These include:
- Health & Safety
- Preparing Surfaces
- Applying Paint by Brush & Roller
- Hanging Wallpaper to walls & ceilings
- Installing Coving & Textured products
- Use of Spray Painting Equipment
- Basic Stencilling
- Team working & Communication Skills
- Personal Listening & Thinking Skills
What qualifications will I achieve?
Upon completion of this course, you will achieve some or all of the following nationally recognised qualifications:- NVQ in Painting & Decorating L2 (500/9056/2)
- Diploma in Painting & Decorating L2 (500/4050/9)
- Functional Skills - Maths L1 (500/8501/3)
- Functional Skills - English L1 (500/8499/9)
- CSCS card You will also gain certificates in:
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Working at Heights
How will I be assessed?
You be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This involves collecting details of work performed while on work placement, this will be fully supported by your tutor.
