Who is this course for?

This course is aimed towards school leavers aged 16-18 years, who have an interest in a future career in Electrical Engineering. This course has been specifically designed to develop learners skills and knowledge and to gain the qualifications and training needed to meet British standards.

What will I learn?

If you have decided upon a career in electrical engineering we can offer a purpose fitted workshop with dedicated resources for electrical testing and installation. We work with a large number of partner organisations who can provide employment as part of our apprenticeship programmes. You will learn:
  • Performing Engineering Operations in Mechanical and Multi skilled applications
  • Health and Safety
  • Routine servicing of electrical equipment and systems
  • Wiring electrical circuits and working with others
  • Fitting techniques and using hand tools
  • Engineering principles
  • Designing and testing electronic circuits
  • Manufacturing transformers
  • Inductors
  • Electrical control systems equipment
  • Electrical motors and generators
  • Controling semiconductors manufacturing processes
  • Leading electronic component manufacturer
Also: Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology and Multi-skilled Applications, Inspection testing & commissioning and Fault diagnosis & rectification. The pathways available ensure that this qualification offers a wide choice for candidates when seeking an industry recognised qualificaton for electrical and electronics work.

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This involves collecting details of work performed while in your work place.

Entry Requirements?

A*-G GCSE Grades. Ability to complete an entry assessment and interview.
