Course Title

Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 (Pre-Apprenticeship / Foundation Engineering)

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed towards school leavers who are interested in a future career in engineering. You will be able to try many aspects of engineering, including fabrication/welding, lathes, milling machines, electrical, and plumbing. You should have a keen interest in this subject.

What will I learn?

On this course you will learn:
  • The correct use of various tools and techniques
  • Use machines such as; Lathes, Milling Machines, and Cutting equipment
  • Fabrication and Welding
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical

What qualifications will I achieve?

Upon completion of this course, you will achieve an NVQ Level 1 in engineering. Awarding body EMTA QCF 500/1621/0.

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. The evidence is collected from activities undertaken within the workshop and classroom environment.

Entry Requirements?

No qualifications required. Ability to complete an entry assessment and interview.

Course Duration

Take up to 6 months (full time course).
