Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for school leavers aged 16-18 years with an interest in marine engineering.

What will I learn?

This qualification at level 3 contains several pathways which cover a very wide range of marine related activities.
You will learn:
  • Marine welding
  • Rigging
  • Sheet metalwork
  • Electrical and mechanical mantenance
  • Overhaul

Intermediate Apprenticeship
  • Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Engineering and Technology
  • Level 3 NVQ in chosen field (e.g. Electrical, mechanical)
  • Level 2 Key Skills in Improving own Learning
  • Level 2 Key Skills in Working with Others
  • Level 2 Key Skills in Application of Number/Function Skills in Maths
  • Level 2 Key Skills in Communication/Function Skills in English
  • Level 2 Key Skills in Information and Communication Technology/ Function Skills in ITC

How will I be assessed?

You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This involves collecting details of work performed while in your work place.

A*-C GCSE Grades. Ability to complete an entry assessment and interview.
