This course is ideal for school leavers aged 16-18 years with an interest in marine engineering.What will I learn?
This qualification at level 3 contains several pathways which cover a very wide range of marine related activities.You will learn:
- Marine welding
- Rigging
- Sheet metalwork
- Electrical and mechanical mantenance
- Overhaul

Intermediate Apprenticeship- Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Engineering and Technology
- Level 3 NVQ in chosen field (e.g. Electrical, mechanical)
- Level 2 Key Skills in Improving own Learning
- Level 2 Key Skills in Working with Others
- Level 2 Key Skills in Application of Number/Function Skills in Maths
- Level 2 Key Skills in Communication/Function Skills in English
- Level 2 Key Skills in Information and Communication Technology/ Function Skills in ITC
How will I be assessed?
You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This involves collecting details of work performed while in your work place.
