This course is ideal for school leavers aged 16-18 years with an interest in Signmaking.What will I learn?
The sign making industry offers excellent working conditions and progressive career opportunities with high levels of investment in new equipment and technology. It uses a wide range of high technology equipment to keep pace with the ever changing market requirements not only in the UK but Europe and Worldwide.Sign making can involve a variety of both traditional and modern methods including:
- Screen printing
- Engraving
- Etching
- Joining
- Hand Decorating
- Spray Painting
- Installing and maintenance

You will be required to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. This involves collecting details of work performed while in your work place.

Cost
This course is free to anyone aged 16-18 years. Eligibility will be checked at the interview stage.Future Opportunities
On completion of the apprenticeship course, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme, Employment or Higher Education. After the Advanced Apprenticeship programme young people can progress to further qualifications, such as a NVQ level 4, HNC or a degree.Related Job Profiles
