Our basic training preparation course is aimed at 16-18 year old males and females who are looking to follow a career in the uniformed services. If you're looking for a job in the army, navy or air force then our 26-week full-time course is ideal to give you the fitness levels and skills you'll need to succeed. Our course is approved by the Army Careers Service and Navy Careers Service. Over 80% of our students progress into service life, further education or full employment.

On the course you can work towards accredited qualifications in health and safety and level 1 in Public Service. We also reward our committed students, who have excellent attendance, with great benefits like free gym membership. We recruit all year round.

The course is split up into four main areas of training:

Area 1: Team Building

You will learn to climb, abseil, mountaineer and cave. Through these activities, you will learn to work as a team, gain confidence and self-sufficiency.

Area 2: Practical workshops

In the central training rooms you will learn the theory behind the practices. This includes care of equipment, navigation skills and communication skills. All workshops are carried out in a relaxed atmosphere and practical manner.

Area 3: Fitness

Qualified Fitness Instructors will take you from whatever your starting point to the next level needed for basic training. Fitness sessions are carried out both in the gym and in 'open air'. Sessions include cross-country runs, spinning, swimming, circuits and strength training.

Area 4: Field craft

In practical situations, you will learn about living in the outdoors, basic survival, navigation and taking care of yourself and equipment.
