If you are interested in computer programming and like engineering, then this CNC machinist apprenticeship programme is for you.
Computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery is used in manufacturing and engineering. Skilled engineering craft machinists create precision engineered parts, using a CNC machine tool to shape blank metal or plastic/composite materials.

The course is a mix of theory work in the classroom and practical hands on training in our industry standard workshops using leading control systems such as FANUC and HEIDENHAIN.

Learners will develop theirs skills and knowledge of a range of CNC techniques. You will learn how to read engineering drawings, set, program and operate CNC machines that are capable of cutting raw metal into finished parts whilst ensuring that the program is correct and creates the desired product in the most efficient way possible.

The programme will include mandatory requirements of the Apprenticeship framework; an NVQ, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills in English, maths and ICT.
