Qualifications and assessment

This course uses RARPA as its method of assessment.

RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.

Course content

The focus of this online workshop will be to develop practical skills with a focus on positivity and wellbeing through an exciting activity for families and children. We will look at the importance of colour as one of the main ‘Visual Elements’ in Creative Arts, and how the ways in which we use colour can emphasise moods and feelings.

Workshop content will include:

  • How to use the colour wheel to mix the colours of the rainbow using acrylic paints
  • Using cut-out shapes to create rainbow pattern animals, letters and pictures

‘Creative Rainbow Tiles’ aims to make learning accessible to you regardless of the art materials you may have at home, and you will be provided with your very own free rainbow tiles material pack from the Endeavour centre.

Free art materials kits can be collected from the Endeavour Learning and Skills Centre. Please call reception on 01482 615 349 before you visit to book a slot between 10am-12noon.

In your free materials pack you will find:
– Primary Colour Acrylic Paint Pots

– Paintbrushes

– A hardboard tile

– A step-by-step guide with links to a tutor demonstration

Once you have completed your rainbow designs, these can be shared with us by taking a photograph or a scan of your work – information will be provided on how to do so. Your creative rainbow tile outcomes will be suitable to display in your window, in the home, or could even be varnished to hang outdoors in the garden and share your colourful message of positivity!
