This Digitals Skills course is a qualification designed for adults with some experience of using digital devices and the internet but lacking secure basic digital skills. This qualification focuses on securing the essential digital skills needed for work, life and further study. The skills acquired through this qualification will enable you to be digitally mobile and access important governmental services, transactions online and explore technologies, which will improve your social interactions with family and friends. The qualification will also provide you with further opportunities of further study and to progress in work.
Students will learn:
- Using devices and handling information online
- Creating and editing digital media
- Communicating and sharing content online using a digital device
- Transacting, make informed choices and managing online accounts
- To be proficient in being safe and responsible online
This qualification is designed for adults with some experience of using digital devices and the internet but lacking secure basic digital skills.
No previous formal qualifications are required for entry to these qualifications.

This qualification will be accessible online with an online test within our centre. You will have access to our online systems, individual email with online storage and tutor support throughout including chat and email over the duration of the course.
There are three modules; Core, Life and Work. Each module has a practical assessment and a supporting online knowledge test.
We will undertake an Initial Assessment to ensure you are suitable for this course.
Where can it lead?
The appropriate follow on course will be to progress to the next level of IT, this could be Functional Skills Level 2. Employment.
You may also discuss what you would like to progress on to after the course, with your tutor or with an advisor in the centre.
