Course overview
The Level 2 Apprenticeship Framework, Diploma in Team Leading is designed for new team leaders. An ideal opportunity for those who want to develop their core team leading skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for middle management responsibilities.
To support your studies you will receive free ILM (Institute for Leadership and Management) membership for the duration of your apprenticeship, giving you access to the learning ILM Resource Centre – hundreds of business book summaries and the latest management magazines, journals and white papers. Who is this apprenticeship for?
As a team leader you will be someone who communicates to teams and participates in projects, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. You will contribute and be accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include preparing and contributing in meetings, promoting inclusion in the workplace, manage individual and team performance, and participate in a project. Roles may include: Team Leaders, supervisors, mentors, coaches and young leaders.
Entry requirements
The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be decided by each employer, as a part of the framework. Further support and training will be given if you need to update your math and English skills to level 1 – we will support those without level 2 English and Maths to achieve this level prior to completion
Progression
On completion, you can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, and those with 3 years’ of management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status through the CMI. Progression to team leader/supervisor level 3 apprenticeship studies is also available.
