What is the course about?
You will develop drawing and painting skills and learn how to apply a variety of wet and dry media when creating and developing your own work.
Each session will involve working on two projects; the first one linked to a tutor demonstration, the second one will involve working on personal projects using the mediums of your choice and working from your own references.
The course content will be negotiated to meet your needs and will include some of the following:
- Two and three dimensional drawing techniques.
- Painting techniques-flat and gradated washes and overlaying colours.
- One and two point linear perspective.
- Colour mixing-single and multiple colours.
- Application of wet and dry media
- Art influences and styles.
What do we expect from you?
You will be required to attend an induction to establish your current level of skills and knowledge. At the induction session you can talk to the tutor about your projects and will be advised about the equipment you will require prior to the start of each course.
Regular attendance is essential for progression to a higher level and you will be encouraged to practise techniques at home.
Recognising and recording your progress and achievement
As with all learning it is important for you to know how you are progressing.
Your learning on this course will be recorded through the individual learning goals that you agree and set with your tutor at the beginning of each course.
This will allow you to see, as you work towards those learning goals, how well you are learning, what you have achieved, and how you have progressed during the course.
You may also discuss what you would like to progress on to after the course to further your learning or career.
