Overview of the course
This exciting accredited course is an opportunity to build on your knowledge of drawing and painting and develop practical skills in producing creative artworks. In studying for this qualification, you will enrich your knowledge of professional Art & Design practice in the creative sector, through meeting deadlines for projects with appropriate targets, similar to a commercial Graphic Design client brief.
You will work with your tutor to write your own project and create a developed outcome – this could be, for example, a mixed media painting, a charcoal landscape, or a photorealist self-portrait. Through experimentation with relevant materials in a series of small studies, you will work your way towards your final outcome, and these studies will form part of the evidence which will be submitted to achieve the Entry Level 3 qualification.
The course content will be personalised, and the facilitation of your individual project will consist of weekly tutorials with your tutor and continuous practical advice on the development of your final outcome. In addition to this, group discussion is encouraged in a collaborative workshop setting – this feedback will help inform your work and its effect on the ‘viewer’ – those that you intend to potentially view your final piece.
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at learners of all abilities and levels of skill and experience, though it is highly recommended that you have had some basic experience of using drawing and painting materials, for example through our Drawing and Painting First Steps course, or Creative Arts Introduction.
