Course Content
This is a classroom-based, workshop-style, fun learning experience.
Using a paper pattern, which will be provided, you will learn how to create a lined bag shaped like an Easter bunny with long floppy ears which serve as tie fasteners. A hand embroidered cute rabbit face and fluffy white pompom tail will finish your piece.
Your confidence will develop as your practical ability, skills and understanding, and knowledge of sewing techniques are utilised.
Tutor demonstration, advice, guidance and practical support will be given throughout the session.
What you will need to bring with you:
- Cotton fabric in suitable bunny colour and some cheerful, spring-like fabric to line the bag
- Half a metre of a plain fabric for the outer and half a metre of fabric for the lining of the bag will give you plenty, with some left over to make a second bag
- You may also wish to bring matching thread
There are sewing machines and some sewing equipment for your use at the centre, scissors, pins, etc.
However, you may wish to bring your own sewing tools and equipment. If you wish to bring your own sewing machinery it must hold a current PAT test certificate. The tutor will need to evidence.
Assessment Method
This is a RARPA based course, assessment is carried out though building of a portfolio and taking part within tasks matched to the individual’s personal targets.
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications.
