If you’re interested in a career in electrical engineering, an apprenticeship is a valid pathway into a growth industry where your skills will be in future demand.
You don’t have to go university to start a career in electrical engineering. An apprenticeship can give you the qualifications and the work experience to force recruiters to chase you through the streets
This programme has been designed to meet the needs of the engineering sector and provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to meet British standards in Electrical Installation qualifications and training.

An electrical engineering apprenticeship is not the same as an electrician apprenticeship. Electrical engineers create and maintain electrical control systems, equipment and machinery. There is more to it than changing lightbulbs, or fixing fridges.
The course will cover both the theoretical and practical aspects of electrical work in our purpose fitted workshop with dedicated resources for electrical testing and installation.

Units you will study include: Electrical Safety, Communication, Electrical Installation, Testing Domestic Installations.

As part of these units you will be taught how to use a range of hand tools and testing equipment.

You will learn:

• Performing Engineering Operations in Mechanical and Multi skilled applications
• Health and Safety
• Routine servicing of electrical equipment and systems
• Wiring electrical circuits and working with others
• Fitting techniques and using hand tools
• Engineering principles

To enrol on this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, ideally have GCSEs at
Grades A*- G (preferably English, Maths and IT)

You will be required to complete an entry assessment and interview.

We work with a large number of partner organisations who can provide employment as part of our apprenticeships. During the interview you will be able to find out more on how we can help and support you in finding employment.

On completion of the Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme or employment. This could then lead to further qualifications such as NVQ Level 4, HNC or a degree.
