Working with highly qualified electricians in our fully equipped electrical department learners have the necessary resources to receive a combination of classroom based theory and practical training to gain a broad range of knowledge and skills that will enable them to carry out their work safely and effectively.

Hull Training and Adult Education’s electrical apprenticeships have been specifically designed by employers to develop the skills and knowledge required within the electrical industry. They provide the support and guidance required to gain qualifications and training needed to meet the demands of industry, the latest British Standards, current legislation and recognition from the Electrical Contractors Association, JIB and awarding bodies.

You will learn:

• Performing Engineering Operations in Mechanical and Multi skilled applications
• Health and Safety
• Routine servicing of electrical equipment and systems
• Wiring electrical circuits and working with others
• Fitting techniques and using hand tools
• Engineering principles
• Designing and testing electronic circuits
• Manufacturing transformers
• Inductors
• Electrical control systems equipment
• Electrical motors and generators
• Controling semiconductors manufacturing processes
• Leading electronic component manufacturer

The programme will include mandatory requirements of the Apprenticeship framework; an NVQ, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.

To enrol on this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, ideally have GCSEs at
Grades A*- G (preferably English, Maths and IT)

You will be required to complete an entry assessment and interview.

We work with a large number of partner organisations who can provide employment as part of our apprenticeships. During the interview you will be able to find out more on how we can help and support you in finding employment.

On completion of the Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme or employment. This could then lead to further qualifications such as NVQ Level 4, HNC or a degree.
