Course Aims
To enable learners to be accomplished writers and readers in this benchmark qualification, along with enhancing knowledge of all areas of English. This classroom-based course is aimed at learners who have achieved Level 2 and wish to progress their English skills
Entry Requirements
Learners are required to be 19+ years old on or before the 31 August of the upcoming academic year in order to be eligible. However, learners should be working at Level 2 consistently
An Initial Assessment Session will be carried out before commencement of course to ensure you are studying at the correct level.

Course Content
A speedy view of Writing Creatively and Viewpoints Writing. Looking at the writing and reading of texts related to these areas
Content includes:
- Explorations in creative reading and writing
- Writers’ viewpoints and perspectives
- Non-exam assessment
It is an exciting course where you will read different texts and select language choices and structures whilst also making judgements on statements made relating to the texts. There are also compare and contrast questions and writers perspectives to analyse.
In the writing section you will learn to create your own pieces. Descriptive or narrative writing will form a large part of the course. Alongside this, you will learn to write with a viewpoint when you keep a balanced argument running with your techniques of persuasion.
A presentation is also included in the course expectations.
Assessment Method
GCSE Level 1 – 9 qualification. Two exams at end of course
