Course Aims
This 5 week ESOL course will help build confidence with writing
Entry Requirements
Learners need to be at least at Level 1 in writing.
An Initial Assessment Session will be carried out before commencement of the course to ensure you are studying at the correct level.
Course Content
An ESOL writing course will help learners to be confident in writing including:
- spelling correctly
- choosing and developing your vocabulary
- writing for different purposes, for example letters and emails
- using verb tenses, prepositions, modal verbs, adjectives and other grammar features correctly
- improving employment skills
- helping your children with school work
- moving on to further courses and/or getting work
Grammar: present perfect, present perfect continuous, past perfect, past perfect continuous, future tenses including future continuous, future perfect; conditionals; passive; relative clauses; conjunctions; modal verbs.
Vocabulary and phrases Level 1 & Level 2 relating to: work, education, the environment, experiences of living in different countries, sport, free time and hobbies, media; television, radio, cinema, theatre, newspapers; local issues; services, roads.
