Course Aims
An ESOL writing course will help you to be confident in writing, including:
- spelling correctly
- choosing and developing your vocabulary
- writing for different purposes, for example letters and emails
- using verb tenses, prepositions, modal verbs, adjectives and other grammar features correctly
- improving employment skill
- helping your children with school work
- moving on to further courses and/or getting work
Entry Requirements
Learners need to be at least at Level 1 in Writing.
An Initial Assessment session will be carried out before commencement of the course to ensure you are studying at the correct level.

Course Content
You will learn about grammar techniques including:
- present perfect
- present perfect continuous
- past perfect
- past perfect continuous
- future tenses including future continuous
- future perfect
- conditionals
- passive
- relative clauses
- conjunctions
- modal verbs
At Level 2 and 3 you will learn about vocabulary and phrases relating to:
- work
- education
- the environment
- experiences of living in different countries
- sport
- free time and hobbies
- media
