During the course you are encouraged to take part in work experience which is key to preparing you for an apprenticeship or work which should be the next stage.
The key to this programme is the time you will spend in the kitchen with your tutor. You will learn a wide range of preparation and cooking methods starting from the basic up to more advanced skills and techniques.
All tutors have a wide range of industry experience which helps make this course relevant and challenging.
This apprenticeship would suit anyone wishing to work in kitchens and food processing areas.
You will learn:
• Cooking and finishing Various foods
• Chilling and Freezing
• Food Safety
• Ordering Stock
• Supervision and team working skills
• Health, Safety & Hygiene – Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment
It also provides transferable skills that will be needed throughout a working life.

We work with a large number of partner organisations who can provide employment as part of our apprenticeships. During the interview you will be able to find out more on how we can help and support you in finding employment.
On completion of the Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme or employment. This could then lead to further qualifications such as NVQ Level 4, HNC or a degree.
