Our tutors are all experienced teachers who hold current teaching and subject specialist qualifications. We also have learning support workers who offer specific support to learners. Volunteers are also a major part of our service – many volunteers have recently been students on English and maths courses. Maths courses are free for most learners.
Where do I go?
Courses take place across the city at Adult Education centres and community locations such as libraries and community centres.
How long will it take me?
We’ll plan with you what you need to learn so it could take 3 months or a year.
What qualifications can I do?
Most people take Functional Skills English and maths. GCSE’s are also available.
How will I be supported?
We’ll find out what you want to learn and suggest which course is best for you. Your tutor will give you support and advice during the course.
