Course Aims
For those with increased basic knowledge of throwing who are intending to work more independently to create taller vessels and even walls. We will aim to gain confidence by practically developing throwing skills techniques enabling us to control the clay and create pots of similar dimensions over the course of five weeks.
Entry Requirements
You need to have completed the Beginners 2 course or have some knowledge and understanding of throwing on a potters wheel.

Course Content
You will develop your throwing skills each week focusing on creating taller more even walls with pre-determined dimensions. We will explore foot ring designs and hone our Turing skills creating smooth beautifully finished pieces. We will glaze it using a combination of stoneware glazes and over layering techniques.
Assessment Method
This course uses RARPA as its method of assessment.
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five-stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.
