Course Aims

You will learn how to use the potter’s wheel.  You will experience the thrill of throwing, decorating and glazing your very own mug/bowl or plate.

Course Content

During this four-week course, you will have fun learning how to use a potter’s wheel and use your flair to make your very own mug/bowl or plate.

You will learn the different steps to successfully make your unique 2D and 3D shaped creation.

In the second part of the course, you will explore the different colour glazes available to complete your exciting project.

Assessment Method

This is a RARPA based course, assessment is carried out though building of a portfolio and taking part within tasks matched to the individual’s personal targets.

RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five-stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.

You could progress on to further crafting, sewing and pottery/ceramics courses.
