Course Aims

Develop basic ICT skills to improve skills and employability. Learn the basic concepts and techniques of computing. This course will get you up to speed with modern technology in no time at all increasing confidence in creating and accessing digital information.

Accredited/RARPA statement

RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning.  It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.

Where can it lead?

You can progress to courses such as: 

  • ICT Functional Skills
  • OCR Spreadsheets
  • OCR Word processing

This qualification would be useful in the following roles:

  • Administrators
  • Technical Support (Technician / Help Desk)
  • Secretarial roles
