Course Aims
This classroom-based Italian course will look into the Italian language and culture; this will help you gain a broader understanding of how to express yourself to communicate effectively in Italian, and how to understand others in a range of everyday situations.

Course Content
Students will learn how to:
- Introduce themselves,
- Friends and family members,
- Talk about likes and dislikes and express preferences,
- How to order food and drinks,
- How to ask and give directions,
- Describe clothes including colours, etc.
Not only do students learn how to make statements about daily life, they also learn how to get relevant information by asking questions and practising these questions and responses in class. Students learn how to book holidays, buy products and order services, etc.
Assessment Method
This course uses RARPA as its method of assessment.
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.

The appropriate follow on course will be to progress to the next level of Italian, for example: Beginners may be able to attend an improver’s course.
