Do you have the confidence to measure up for home projects? This course will develop your knowledge of systems of measurement, calculating quantities needed and using measuring tools.
The skills and knowledge that you develop on this course will mean that you can approach measuring up that DIY project with confidence!
There are no entry requirements. To be eligible for the course you should not have already achieved a Level 2 qualification in maths.

This eight week classroom based course will cover the key areas of measurement and calculating quantities needed to carry out your projects.
The course includes:
- Measurement: different systems of measurement and how to calculate between them
- Practical skills: choosing and using the right measuring tool and units
- Calculating: how to use your measurements to calculate how much paint, flooring or other products you need
At the end of this course you will have developed your confidence in measuring and being able to calculate quantities.
This course uses RARPA as its method of assessment.
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.
