Why this full time course?

Do you like working in a hands-on environment? Do you like learning in a more practical way? Are you are hard worker and prepared to work outside in all weathers? If so the construction industry might be for you! The Level 1 Certificate in Multi-trade Construction Activities is a recognised qualification across the construction sector. This would be delivered as a full time course for 3 days a week at Hull Training, you would also carry out work experience in multiple vocational area to give you a taste of the industry. You would learn the basics of bricklaying, painting and decorating and the possibility of some tiling. At the end of the course you would have decided which trade was for you and you would then hopefully move on to a single trade course.

Entry requirements

You need to be aged 16 and over You do not need any prior construction qualifications

Course content

During this course you will learn a full range of skills that a qualified Bricklayer needs including: Health safety and Welfare in Construction Moving and Handling Setting out Brickwork Laying Bricks and Blocks Preparing surfaces for painting Apply paint to walls Tile walls (optional unit) Employability Skills Work Experience

What qualification(s) will I achieve?

You would gain your Level 1 Certificate in Multi-trade Construction Activities You would work towards gaining your CSCS card (Health and Safety) You have to continue working on your English and Maths if you did not get a 4 or above at GCSE, we have a dedicated team who would support you through those qualifications.

What can I do after this apprenticeship – potential careers?

Move on to a level 1 diploma in a single construction trade.

Move on to the level 2 Apprenticeship in a single construction trade (depending on Maths and English results)
