Course Aims
If you have no experience in the subject or very basic knowledge, then this course is for you! You will gain confidence by making and decorating a pottery project using hand-building techniques.

Course Content
During this five-week course, you will learn practical clay handling skills and a basic understanding of decorating techniques by making a set of nesting pouring bowls and decorating them with stoneware glazes. You will also explore applying texture to the clay surface and the skill of etching into clay to create a sign or plaque.

Assessment Method
This course uses RARPA as its method of assessment.
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five-stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.
