For those with no experience in the subject, or very basic knowledge, we aim to help you gain confidence by making and decorating a pottery project using Handbuilding techniques over the course of five weeks.
There are no entry requirements.

Learn practical clay handling skills and a basic understanding of decorating techniques by making a set of nesting pouring bowls and decorating them with stoneware glazes. We will also explore applying texture to the clays surface and the skill of etching into clay to create a sign or plaque.

This course uses RARPA as its method of assessment.
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five-stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.

You may wish to progress on to one of our other pottery and ceramics courses or take a qualification in the subject, such as:
Level 1 Award in Craft Skills using Natural Materials
Level 2 Certificate in Creative Crafts
