The Level 5 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Leadership and Management standard is  designed for practising middle managers, helping you to develop your skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities to support your studies you will receive free ILM (Institute for Leadership and Management ) membership for the duration of your programme, giving you access to the learning ILM Resource Centre – hundreds of business book summaries and the latest management magazines, journals and white papers. Who is this apprenticeship for?
As an
 operations or departmental manager you will be managing a team or a project which has clear strategic delivery and departmental goals and objectives. You will be accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. This apprenticeship is aimed at those who work in the private, public or third sector organisations. While specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need will be the same. Some of the key responsibilities may include:

  • creating and delivering operational plans
  • managing projects
  • leading and managing teams
  • managing change
  • financial and resource management
  • talent management
  • coaching and mentoring

Roles may include:

  • Operations Manager,
  • Regional Manager,
  • Divisional Manager,
  • Department Manager and specialist managers.
