Pottery for Improvers

On this course you will learn about a variety of hand building techniques, using the pottery wheels and ceramic decorative processes.
You will develop your skills and knowledge of how to design and make any kind of ceramic including pottery on the wheel and ceramic sculpture. The
medium of clay will allow you to make endless 3D forms and designs and enable you to complete a ceramic project of your choice.
The course content will be negotiated to meet your needs and will include some of the following:

  • Basic clay handling.
  • Basic hand building techniques.
  • Generating design ideas.
  • Techniques for throwing on the pottery wheel.
  • Exploring the varied methods of alternative firing, slip work and glazing techniques.
