All production and manufacturing plants require control systems to ensure that the plant operates satisfactorily and with high efficiency.

Control systems are particularly essential to industries such as food, pharmaceutical and production manufacturing.

Our PLC training programme will introduce and familiarise you with control systems engineering and will cover the use of PLC’s including programming, maintenance and fault finding techniques.

This course is a mix of theory work and practical hands on training in our industry standard workshops.

Training can be delivered level 2 and 3 and will include:

• PLC systems & memory
• Communication & programming
• Program structure and ladder logic
• Downloading and uploading a program
• Monitoring a PLC program
• Maths function
• PLC application

The programme will include mandatory requirements of the Apprenticeship framework; an NVQ, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT.

To enrol on this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over, ideally have GCSEs at
Grades A*- G (preferably English, Maths and IT)

You will be required to complete an entry assessment and interview.

We work with a large number of partner organisations who can provide employment as part of our apprenticeships. During the interview you will be able to find out more on how we can help and support you in finding employment.

On completion of the Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme or employment. This could then lead to further qualifications such as NVQ Level 4, HNC or a degree.
