Sewing Skills

Course overview
You will learn practical sewing skills and techniques whilst working on a self-chosen sewing project suitable for your level of skill and ability. Your project is your choice, and may range from simple undertaking such as pin cushion, peg bag, tote bag, through to more difficult and complex items such as garments, patchwork pieces and drafting your own patterns. The tutor will discuss your ideas with you. During the course you will observe tutor explanations and demonstrations linked to the projects you will create, including hand and machine sewing techniques.

Who is this course for?
This is a mixed ability course and is suitable for all learners who wish to develop their skills and understanding of sewing methods, processes and techniques.
No prior sewing knowledge is required, simply enthusiasm and a desire to learn.

What can I do after this course?
After this course you may progress to a qualification course, such as Garment Making, Creating a Memory Blanket or Sewing Machine Skills.
You may wish to continue attending a leisure sewing course in Dressmaking or Sewing Skills to further develop your skills and understanding within the subject
