This is a classroom-based course for learners who already have a basic understanding of Spanish. On this course you will build on your understanding of Spanish grammar and vocabulary in order to communicate in a range of everyday and more complex situations.
This course is part of our Spanish programme which is open to anyone age 19 years and above. You may benefit if you have attended a complete beginners Spanish course, however it is not essential. Prior to enrolling you will be invited to attend an Initial Assessment.

By the end of the course successful learners should be able to:
- Understand and reply to simple questions or requests for information
- Take part in simple interactions and applying the basic rules of pronunciation
- Communicate on a wide range of topics
- Obtain information from complex texts and deal with topics of a familiar/unfamiliar nature
All levels of Spanish will be clarified from the initial assessment during the induction session.
This as an accredited course and evidence of achievement is by creating a portfolio of evidence.
Where can it lead?
You may wish to develop your skills further on the next Spanish course and gain a qualification on reading and writing. You may also have an interest in some of our other Community Learning courses such as sewing, pottery, computer skills, English or maths courses. Your tutor will be able to provide more information about this at the end of your course.
