Course aims

This online course is aimed at those new to learning Spanish.

An example of a Spanish beginner’s course will teach you how to exchange information in simple everyday situations.

By the end of the course successful learners should be able to:

–  give and receive basic greetings and personal information;

–  tell the time and use numbers and currency;

–  order and pay for food and drink in a restaurant or café; and

–  ask for some basic information to get you by around town.

You can follow on to further Spanish speaking more fluently and build on your conversational skills as well as be able to gain a deeper cultural understanding. 

By the end of the course successful learners should be able to: 

–  communicate on a wider range of topics and be able to extract details accurately from various sources;

–  obtain information from complex texts and deal with topics of a familiar/unfamiliar nature;

– start expressing attitudes and emotions; and

– start to use colloquial expressions and appropriate style of language in conversations.
