Supporting Teaching & Learning (Teaching Assistant) Apprenticeship Level 2 and Level 3

Course overview
The level 2 and 3 Apprenticeship is applicable to teaching support staff whose role requires competence across a range of responsibilities. They will contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating learning activities and will work alongside the teacher to support whole class activities as well as working in their own with individual or groups of pupils.

Who is the Appreniticeship for?
This apprenticeship trains you to provide support in the classroom. Learning support staff work with teachers, carry out duties like lesson preparation, and work with small groups or individuals.

The Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship is suitable to teaching support staff whose responsibilities at work are closely supervised and working under the direction of a classroom teacher.

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is suitable to teaching support staff whose role requires competence across a range of responsibilities. They will contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating learning activities and will work alongside the teacher to support whole class activities as well as working in their own with individual or groups of pupils.

Entry requirements
A*- G GCSE Grades. An ability to complete an entry assessment and interview.

Progression
On completing the Level 2 qualification, you may progress into employment or onto a Level 3 qualification and then into employment or onto a university qualification.
