Course Content
You will gain an understanding of mental health, mental illness and the surrounding issues. You will be encouraged to develop awareness of the more commonly diagnosed mental health issues and explore general perceptions of mental health difficulties and how stereotyping can affect people’s judgement.
Assessment Method
Accredited/RARPA statement
RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.
Where can it lead?
Progression to NCFE Level 1 Mental Health Awareness or other courses of interest.
This course could lead to working in a variety of settings within the public, private, voluntary and community sector such as:
- counselling
- psychology
- community work
- social work
