This course is suitable for school leavers aged 16­-18 years, who have an interest in Business and Administration, enjoy meeting people and would like to develop their IT and office skills.

This course is suitable for school leavers aged 16-­18 years, who have an interest in Business and Administration, enjoy meeting people and would like to develop their IT and office skills.

The course will develop the learner’s knowledge and awareness of working practices within and office and business administration environment. The course is delivered over 3 days and will include a variety of topics.

You will learn:

• Use a variety of office equipment (photocopier, fax, telephone)
• Use a filing system
• Meeting and welcoming visitors
• Using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Word processing skills
• Confidence building
• Call Centre Operations
In addition you will work on your English & maths and have an opportunity to undertake a sustained period of work experience with a variety of employers and providers across the city. You will also be offered a number of additional courses that aim to support and prepare you for the future and your progress to employment and further learning. Our occupationally experienced tutors will support you through the course and help you develop your skills and experience within the sector. Opportunities to train within our occupational workshops within the Centre

You will need a keen interest in and want to work in the Health and Social industry in the future.

After completion you can progress into employment or onto a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
