Course Aims

To introduce learners to the wide but enjoyable subject of the English Language within a classroom environment.

For them to feel able and equipped to step on and take a short qualification in English.

This is a 10-week course which can help to prepare learners for progression onto a Functional Skills qualification.

The emphasis will be on writing skills, but other skills will be developed: such as speaking and listening, confidence and reading skills.

Level-appropriate session which leads to greater knowledge and confidence around the subject of English.

Entry Requirements

An Initial assessment will be carried out at your first session to assess an appropriate level to work towards.

Course Content

Course content will include spelling, grammar and punctuation at the appropriate level.  With an emphasis on writing skills and communications skills both oral and written.

Assessment Method

This as an accredited course and evidence of achievement is by creating a portfolio of evidence.

You can continue on to further English qualifications in Functional Skills to develop knowledge and confidence in family and work life.
