Course Aims

Would you like to improve your writing skills in English?  Then this course is for you!

The focus on this course is on developing your writing skills for practical reasons so that you have confidence when taking part in job related writing tasks in your working and personal life.

Entry Requirements

This course is aimed at learners working up from Entry 3 to Level 1 and Level 2 who want to improve their English skills to be able to prepare for more formal qualification courses and to become more confident reading, writing and communicating in English.

Course Content

During this 11-week course, you will plan and produce texts and adjust the words, layout, structure and order of the information to suit different purposes. Reports, articles, emails, application forms, personal statements and formal letters all follow different conventions which you will learn to use correctly.

You will learn how to improve the accuracy of spelling, grammar and punctuation during the process of finalising writing.

This booster course will upskill your writing so improve your effectiveness at work and will help prepare you to join a Functional Skills qualification and achieving the full award on the course.

Assessment Method

This is an informal course, and you will not sit a test.  You will set aims about what you want to learn and then track the progress of your learning.  You will show evidence of your achievement at the end of the course and think about what you want to do next.
