Course Aims

This course is aimed at those who already have an elementary vocabulary knowledge and understanding of Spanish.

If you want to communicate with the locals when you visit a Spanish-speaking country, or simply be able to order food, make reservations, or ask for general information, then this is the course for you!

ICT requirements

You’ll need broadband internet access and a desktop or laptop computer with an up-to-date version of Windows to access Teams which is an element of Microsoft Office for online delivery. The use of a mobile phone is not appropriate.

Course Content

In this relaxed, informal course you will cover the skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing however, the emphasis will be on the practical application of the language with many opportunities to practice speaking and understanding.

The grammar will include different tenses and the topics may contain general and personal information, travel, accommodation, food and drink, shopping, and directions giving you the opportunity to suggest other topics which meet your interest.

All learning materials are delivered virtually using the Microsoft Teams app and there is formal online tuition for this course.

You are required to attend at the stated course time and for the duration of the lesson.

Assessment Method

This is a non-accredited course with no exam at the end, but the tutor will monitor progress and give feedback and you will be expected to complete a ‘weekly record of your learning’.
