Safeguarding and Prevent

Hull Training and Adult Education Service believes that all members of staff and all our learners have an important role to play in safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and adults.

We want you to feel safe when learning at Hull Training and Adult Education and we have systems in place to support you, or if you have concerns about someone else.

There is a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) based at each centre to offer support to you.

It doesn’t matter if the incident you are worried about:

  • took place on HTAE premises
  • took place outside the service or via electronic equipment
  • involved another member of staff, a learner or a volunteer

Support can include debt worries, housing, mental health, any specific safeguarding issues including: modern slavery, sexual abuse county lines crime, grooming, domestic abuse.  Whether you feel you are a victim of abuse or bullying, have witnessed abuse or bullying or whether you are worried about someone else.  Anything at all that you feel you may need to talk about or request support.

Please contact the Safeguarding Manager (DSL) Vanessa Drax on 01482 615 250 or mobile 07977 060 599 if you would like to discuss any of the above issues, or anything at all you feel concerned about and isn’t listed above.
