Course aims

These courses are aimed at all levels. This can be from absolute beginners to advance Spanish; please speak with your tutor for further advise

An example of a Spanish beginner’s course will teach you how to exchange information in simple everyday situations.
By the end of the course successful students should be able to:
• give and receive basic greetings and personal information
• tell the time and use numbers and currency
• order and pay for food and drink in a restaurant or café
• ask for some basic information to get you by around town

You can follow on to further Spanish speaking more fluently and build on your conversational skills as well as be able to gain a deeper cultural understanding.

By the end of the course successful students should be able to:
• Communicate on a wider range of topics and be able to extract details accurately from various sources
• Obtain information from complex texts and deal with topics of a familiar/unfamiliar nature
• Making hypothesis using the conditional
• Start expressing attitudes and emotions using the subjunctive
• Start to use colloquial expressions and appropriate style of language in conversations
All levels of Spanish will be clarified from initial Assessment on one of the induction days

Accreditation statement

RARPA stands for Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement which is the process of assessment for non-accredited learning. It is a means of validating the outcomes of programmes which do not result in qualifications. RARPA is a five stage process which measures and records learners’ progress, achievements and attendance.
